Game Journalism - Day 5

How to beat the challenge: Take all the stuff from the starting cabin then explore. That's where I got stuck.

Every major building helps you on the way.

All of these have a large assortment of stuff along with a stove and bed in an airtight room:

This one has allot of supplies but no sealed building:

You need weapons? This one usually has a bow and arrow and ammunition:

Need cloth? These buildings have 10-20 pillows that you can cut:

The train area usually has flares, a knife and some medical supplies (useful for exploring seeing as how you sprain a WRIST when walking on an uneven surface sometimes:

How far I got:

The challenge of course is to get the distress pistol from Timberwolf mountain and fire it from some lighthouse. I found neither but I thought these places were one of them:

This is the furthest I explored:

It whet to some dead end train track.

You can find flares for the the distress pistol at the starting cabin but it is rare and it only happened to me once:

If your lucky enough to find a lot of the buildings mentioned above or more that I did not find, then you will only need to worry about sleep and warmth as you should have enough food and water from the buildings. Personally, I got lost in the dark and gave up way more often then I died. When you do find an airtight building take advantage of it and full your sleep meter as you will not die from freezing. just make sure your food and water are full and you have a light source for night exploration if necessary. From there it's just explore, explore, explore, explore, lose, reset, explore, die, give up.

Game Journalism - Day 3

Make fishing tackle:
1 gut for line
1 scrap metal

Harvest guts:

Hook:

 Line:

Tackle:

In order to make a tackle you need to harvest guts from an animal with something like a hunting knife. You will also need to salvage scrap metal from something like a toolbox. The guts need to lay on the floor indoors for 5 days but the scrap metal can be made into hooks immediately. Once the tackle is made you need to go to an ice hut and break the ice with something like a hatchet.

Also you can find a tackle when you start:

These are the steps to fish:

Game Journalism - Day 2

1.
Portable water:

Corps:

Structures:

 Wolf attack:

2. I explored, found a cabin (forward and left to, turn right at mountain). Wandered off to find tinder to start fire to not die. Almost got killed by wolf then another finished me off.
Found another stricture with weapons in it(left at start). Then I walked past outpost and turned right then left to find train tracks. I kept going and eventually found another part of the tracks going across a bridge.

3. Take everything that doesn't take time to harvest. If it's on the ground, take it. you can drop things later. Stay away from wolves. Always keep warm. Fires can take a long time to warm you up and will be out by the time you wake up, keep that in mind. Sleep is an important thing to keep in mind. It will take a lot out of other stats.

Game Journalism - Day 1

Challenge:

Backpack:

Snare:

Fire:

Today I made a fire, collected all the things in the house and killed a deer. That's when I learned not to harvest the whole deer at once with your bare hands (you die).

Controls:

The most important controls are F and space. CONSTANTLY PRESS F for info. Space is a quick select thing.
